Dr. Ira Goldberg is formally trained as a specialist in orthodontics for children and adults. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Goldberg graduated from the Medical Science Institute at Midwood High School. In May 1996, he received a BS degree in Biology from Brandeis University, where he graduated cum laude. In May 2002, Dr. Goldberg received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated second in his class. Dr. Goldberg received multiple awards and honors at Penn, including induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, and the Matthew Cryer Honor Society, limited to the top 10% of his graduating class. Dr. Goldberg was accepted directly from dental school into the University of Pennysylvania’s Orthodontic residency program, where he received his Certificate in Orthodontics in June 2004. Dr. Goldberg is currently the Chief of Orthodontics at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Goldberg is also a member of the Hagedorn Cleft Palate and Caniofacial Team at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System.
Dr. Goldberg is committed to excellence in orthodontics and has extensive experience treating children and adults with conventional braces and with the most up-to-date technologies. His involvement in many dental organizations and study clubs has enabled him to keep on top of the latest and best techniques that orthodontics has to offer, such as self-ligating braces, Invisalign, and I-braces (lingual braces). Dr. Goldberg is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, the New York State Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Nassau County Dental Society. Dr. Goldberg is also a member of the Glen Cove Dental Study Club, the Great Neck Study Club and the Progressive Dental Study Club of Long Island.
Dr. Goldberg resides in Roslyn and when he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie, and children, Jacob and Hannah.
