New Patients

First Visit

Your First Visit

At your first appointment you will be asked to complete a medical history and other necessary paperwork. To save you time, we have made our forms available on our website for you to download and fill out at home prior to your first appointment.

At this first visit to our office, we want you to relax and feel at ease. After you are given a tour of the office, Dr. Goldberg will examine you and give recommendations regarding treatment.  If treatment is indicated, we will take diagnostic orthodontic records.  Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, impressions of the teeth, digital photos of the patient's face and teeth, and low radiation digital X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move during orthodontic care. Not all patients are ready for treatment at their first visit. If this is the case, Dr. Goldberg will make a plan to follow the patient at regular intervals until it is time to start orthodontic care.

Your consultation visit is always complimentary. If you have not yet scheduled one, please call us today! Some of our patients already taking advantage of the complimentary consultation are located in the Long Island communities in and near Roslyn, New York including: Roslyn, Great Neck, Manhasset, Port Washington, Albertson, East Williston, Glen Cove, Brookville, Old Westbury, Garden City Park, New Hyde Park, Mineola.

Case Discussion Visit

After Dr. Goldberg has evaluated your records, he will discuss your treatment options with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case as well as financing options available.

Regular Appointments

The appointment scheduled for appliance delivery (braces, expanders, etc.) can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on the procedure.  You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 15 to 30 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. These include evening and weekend appointments for your convenience.  We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment so we may make the appointment available to other patients. Frequently cancelled or missed appointments can extend treatment times, so cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.

Payment & Office Policies

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have no interest payment plans to suit different budgets. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable. An initial down payment is due when treatment begins with monthly payments over a specified number of months the patient is undergoing treatment. We accept most credit and debit cards and your monthly payment can be automatically applied to your credit card, checking or savings account.

If your dental insurance has a specified orthodontic benefit, we will help in every way we can to file your claim and handle insurance questions from our office on your behalf.

In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount.

  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.

  • For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA and MASTERCARD.
