Dear Friends,

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones well.  We miss each and every one of you and look forward to seeing you again soon.

We have been in contact with all our patients by phone, text or email multiple times since this has started.  As we continue to navigate these unprecedented times, we want to update you on the current status of our practice operations:

  1. Governor Cuomo has mandated that our office be closed, except for emergency care, through June 6, 2020.  As we receive further updates from our governing bodies, we will share them here, on social media (Facebook and Instagram) via email blasts.
  2. We are available to our patients for emergency care, as per state law. That limits us to treating situations that cause severe pain or limit function. The best way to get in contact with us about emergencies is by phone at 516-484-1123 and email at with a picture of the emergency. We have a link from the AAO on our Facebook page that can walk you through handling the most common issues that can occur. If you are not sure about the situation, email us a picture and ask!
  3. For non-emergency matters, we are available to our patients via phone (516)-484-1123 and email ( on Mondays – Fridays at 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
  4. With regard to rescheduling your appointment, once we have a better idea of when we can open, we will do our best to get everyone rescheduled as soon as possible.  Since we are a smaller office that offers individualized care, we are more readily able to adapt to the current situation.  We anticipate reopening during the first week in June, but we will not schedule any appointments until we have a definitive date.
  5. “Virtual check-ups” are available. If interested, please send photos through our newly updated website.  The process is simple…just click on the “smile snap” widget at the bottom right corner of our website homepage using a mobile device!
  6. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your oral care and safety.  Our office follows the infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  As always, we are proud to continue sterilizing our instruments in wrapped cassettes that remain sealed until they are used on the patient.  Also, our orthodontic brackets and wires come individually packaged in heat-sealed packages from 3M.  This “no contact” system is unique in that the braces already have the adhesive on them, which reduces the handling of the braces prior to putting them on your teeth and maintains the manufacturers standard of sterilization.  We also have private treatment rooms with touchless sinks for both privacy and safety.
  7. In addition to the precautions already in place, we have made the following changes:
    • We have invested in the IQair HealthPro air filtration system with Hyper HEPA filtration for the office. Additionally, we added new HEPA air filters to the existing HVAC system
    • The valet will assign all patients a parking spot.   Patients will be checked in outside the office in the parking area.  Patients can also text us upon arrival and wait in their car until we are ready to see them.
    • Patients and family members will receive a mask and sanitizer as soon as they enter the suite.
    • We will limit the number of patients in the office at one time.
    • Our brushing area will be repurposed as a handwashing area with touchless sinks and soap dispensers.
    • All iPads and handheld games have been removed from the reception area.
    • Glass sneeze guards have been added at the front desk.
    • We have eliminated the need for using a pen in the office.  All signatures and payments will be made using a contactless service or method.

IMPORTANT:  If you have not been getting updates via email or text, please give us a call to update and verify your contact information.
